Stefan ÇAPALIKU
BIOGRAPHY

Stefan Çapaliku (b. 1965) was born and raised in Shkodra.
He studied Albanian language and literature at the University
of Tirana from 1984 to 1988 and did a doctorate in Albanian literature
from 1990 to 1995. He teaches at the University of Shkodra and
also works for the Albanian Ministry of Culture.
Stefan Çapaliku is the author of poetry and prose,
as well as essays and literary studies. Among his major publications
are: the poetry volumes Asgjë më shumë se kaq
s'ka ndodhë (Nothing More Than That Happened), Shkodra
1993; and Kohë e ndalur (Suspended Time), Shkodra
1994; the literary study Fishta satirik (The Satirical
Fishta), Shkodra 1995; the novel Kronikë në lindje
(Chronicle at Birth), Shkodra 1996; the studies Prijës
për gjeografinë dhe sociologjinë e letërsisë
shqiptare (Guide to Geography and Sociology in Albanian Literature),
Shkodra 1997; and Letërsia e interpretuar: prijës
për metodat bashkëkohore të leximit dhe studimit
të letërsisë (Interpreted Literature: Guide
to Contemporary Methods in Reading and Studying Literature),
Tirana 1998; the short story collection Tregime për Anën
(Tales for Anna), Tirana 2002; drama in Pesë drama dhe
një korn anglez (Five Plays and the English Horn), Tirana
2003; and the study Estetika moderne (Modern Aesthetics),
Tirana 2004. Some of his literary works have been translated
into French and Polish. |
